Het Agile Manifest kent ook principes:

1. Onze hoogste prioriteit is het tevredenstellen van de klant door het vroegtijdig en voortdurend opleveren van waardevolle software.
2. Verwelkom veranderende behoeftes, zelfs laat in het ontwikkelproces. Agile processen benutten verandering tot concurrentievoordeel van de klant.
3. Lever regelmatig werkende software op. Liefst iedere paar weken, hooguit iedere paar maanden.
4. Vertegenwoordigers van de business en ontwikkelaars werken dagelijks samen gedurende het gehele project.
5. Bouw projecten rond gemotiveerde individuen. Geef hen de omgeving en ondersteuning die ze nodig hebben en vertrouw erop dat ze de klus klaren.
6. De meest efficiënte en effectieve manier om informatie te delen in en met een ontwikkelteam is door met elkaar te praten
7. Werkende software is de belangrijkste maat voor vooruitgang.
8. Agile processen bevorderen duurzame ontwikkeling. De opdrachtgevers, ontwikkelaars en gebruikers moeten een constant tempo eindeloos vol kunnen houden.
9. Voortdurende aandacht voor een hoge technische kwaliteit en voor een goed ontwerp versterken agility
10. Eenvoud, de kunst van het maximaliseren van het werk dat niet gedaan wordt, is essentieel.
11. De beste architecturen, eisen en ontwerpen komen voort uit zelfsturende teams.
12. Met vaste tussenpauzes, onderzoekt het team hoe het effectiever kan worden en past vervolgens zijn gedrag daarop aan

We ontdekken betere manieren om software te ontwikkelen door onze praktijkervaring en door anderen daarmee te helpen. Daarom vinden we

• Mensen en de interactie tussen mensen belangrijker dan processen en tools
• Werkende software belangrijker dan allesomvattende documentatie
• Samenwerking met de klant belangrijker dan contract onderhandelingen
• Reageren op verandering belangrijker dan het strikt volgen van een plan

Hoewel wij waardering hebben voor al hetgeen aan de rechterkant staat vermeld, hechten wij méér waarde aan wat aan de linkerzijde wordt genoemd

Join us for the next Agile Open Belgium on 21 and 22 of May 2010!

The Agile Open conference has no predetermined program. Instead, we follow Open Space principles. The participants determine the actual program together at the start of the conference. Anyone who participates can propose a session during the opening of the conference and put it in a timeslot of the conference schedule.

Op dinsdag 27 april organiseert Agile Holland een meetup bij Sogeti in Amersfoort met als thema Agile architectuur. Viktor Grgic en Serge Bouwens zullen op deze avond hun visie geven op Agile architectuur.

The SPA2010 conference is less than seven weeks away! We're writing to bring you up-to-date with news of speakers, sponsors and diversions.

We're delighted to welcome two distinguished invited speakers. On Monday, architect Maurice Mitchell will talk about Complexity and the Human Dimension. He's a leading figure in the Architecture of Rapid Change and Scarce Resources, and has worked in areas such as the Sudan, Ghana, Kosovo and Vietnam. And on Wednesday, Harvey Wheaton, Studio Director at Supermassive Games, will talk about introducing agile development to the dynamic and competitive world of console games development.

Recently Robert Martin visited us in the Netherlands. One criticism of Martin, and of other teachers in the industry, is that acceptance testing driven development (ATDD) cannot be scaled up from simple Jukebox examples. That ATDD is one of those agile practices that can - and maybe should be - discarded, because, after all, in the *real world*, who writes tests first? In the *real* world, things are too complicated.

We beg to differ with this opinion. But, more than this, we'd like to discuss (and show) examples of complicated FitNesse implementations from airline booking systems to Black–Scholes pricers, from secured user management to four eyes process verification. We'd like to show how novice and advanced beginners can evolve their practices in spite of the *real* world apologists. We’d like to work with the group to de-bunk the myths that so often conspire to sabotage our efforts for improvements.

Brian Marick zal op zijn tour langs Europese congressen op zaterdag 20 maart Nederland aan doen. Op deze dag organiseren Agile Holland en Devnology gezamenlijk een meetup.

Brian is een van de auteurs van het beroemde Agile Manifesto en heeft verschillende boeken geschreven, waaronder Programming Cocoa with Ruby, Everyday scripting with Ruby en The Craft of Software Testing.

Thursday March 11th Robert C. Martin, "Uncle Bob", is coming to Agile Holland again! The location is at TTY office in Amsterdam.

Everybody is welcome from 18.30, we will try to start at 19.00. We will provide dinner in the form of Pizzas or something similar. Because of limited seating we can only register 30 people, so first come first served!
